What Comes Before Phonics - Dr Sally Neaum

Dr Sally Neaum has worked as a nursery and primary school teacher, an early years and inclusion advisory teacher and an OFSTED inspector of early years provision.

Sally has a masters degree in Educational Psychology and Special Educational Needs and her doctoral research was in the pedagogy of early literacy. Sally has published a number of books on child development, early literacy and children’s literature. Her current areas of research and publication are children’s engagement with literacy provision, pedagogical approaches to young children's learning, and early learning experiences that lead into school-based phonics teaching. Sally is the author of 'What comes before phonics' and engages in some research with our NPCAT schools.
